"Gone are the days when we dreamed and played"

"Gone are the days when we dreamed and played"

Each nite I have a chance to re-live my childhood, that is what I can remember of it.  Each nite I tell my kids a story about a little boy named Vernon, (thats me) and his brother, (Christopher) and our sister (Flo).  I recall telling them story's of my childhood adventures.  As a young boy my dreams and imagination ran wild with adventure.  I could imagine myself as almost anything in or out of this world.
Time brings responsibilities, maturity, hard work and reality that with our dreams of becoming someone there is a cost.  Sometimes that cost fades our ability to live the life that we dreamed of as a child.
Failure or hard times chip away at our strength and focus to keep fighting for the dream. In Galatians Paul says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,". Hebrews 12:1
We must remember that God has marked out the race for us and He equipped us with all we need to over come the enemy of our lives.  We can overcome all that is before us because Christ overcame everything on the cross.  So when our dreams seem to fade away and we begin to loose out perspective... remember He is faithful. "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
